Fabrics and Care:

100% COTTONS

Cotton Sateen: A lovely polished finished cotton. This is a long time favourite medium weight fabric which we use time and time again. This is a lovely 'in between' weight that we continue to use because of its superb finish and durability. Washes and irons like a dream. No dry cleaning is preferred for longevity of the fabric.
Care instructions: We recommend a warm machine wash with no bleaching agents. To prolong the life of your garment, we recommend drying in the shade. Use a warm iron if needed.

Cotton Soft Antique Wash: This lovely 'in between' light weight cotton has been soft washed to give a pre-washed look to the garment and to make it delicious to wear - cool & soft.
Care instructions: Warm wash separately, do not bleach, do not tumble dry, warm iron, do not dry-clean.

Cotton Poplin: The fabric has been treated with a soft finish for extra comfort. A beautiful weight cotton which we use because it is a great 'in between' weight. A lighter weight than our 'standard' Sateen cotton.
Care instructions: A warm machine wash with no bleaching agents is all that's needed to keep this fabric in top condition. Do not tumble dry. Dry in the shade to keep colours vibrant. Warm iron, do not dry-clean.

Cotton Yarn Dyed: The finest combed cotton is used to produce this fabric. Cool, comfortable and easy care. Same weight as Cotton Poplin (see above). Yarn Dyed indicates that yarn is dyed before the fabric is woven.
Care instructions: Use a warm machine wash. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Dry in the shape to keep colours vibrant. Warm iron. Do not dry-clean.

Flannelette: This is a 'signature' quality of Peter Alexander's high standard fabrication. Two sides brushed for extra comfort and softness. Washes beautifully and can be tumble dried on a warm cycle if you chose to do so. Minimal shrinkage - up to 3%. We have used this quality over several Winter seasons because our customers love it!
Care instructions: Warm gentle machine wash separately before use. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Hot iron inside out. Do not dry clean.

Yarn Dyed Flannelette: A newer quality - slightly finer in texture than the square weave above. It is a very durable, warm, long wearing twill weave. Two sides have been brushed for extra comfort and softness.
Care instructions: Warm machine wash is required, but do not bleach. Line dry is best, not in direct sun light. This fabric can be tumble dried on a warm cycle with minimal shrinkage, even though the care instructions advise not to tumble dry. Just be careful not to 'over' tumble dry. Do not dry clean.

Cotton Cambric: 'Soft wash' or 'Light Schriener Finish (which is a treatment which enhances the luster of the fabric)' for extra comfort & softness plus minimizing shrinkage. Cool, comfortable, softest high quality cotton.
Care instructions: We recommend a warm gentle machine wash with no bleaching agents. Should you choose to warm tumble dry, please expect some shrinkage. To prolong the life of the garment, we recommend drying in the shade to keep the sharpness of colours in the print. Use a warm iron when needed. Please check the label inside your garment for any special care details.

Cotton Knit: The finest, softest quality cotton is selected for use in our singlets and mens T-shirts. Cotton interlock used for the softest touch for comfort. 1x1 rib knit has been used for extra comfort and stretch. Mens T-shirts are made from a combed cotton jersey knit to keep the garment light & cool for your summer slumbers.
Care instruction: We recommend a gentle warm machine wash with like colours & no bleaching agents to prolong the life of your print and garment. Drying in the shade is preferred. Should you choose to warm tumble dry, please turn your printed garment inside out to protect the print. You will expect 3 - 4% shrinkage from the tumble dry method. Warm iron if required - be careful not to iron on printed area.

MODAL

'Modal' (polynosic) is a regenerated man-made cellulose fibre with the wonderful properties of softness and drape, feeing luxurious on the body. It is a strong fibre but requires gentle care to keep it looking good.
Care instruction: We recommend gentle warm hand wash, no bleach, dry flat in shade, cool iron if necessary, do not dryclean.

NYLON MESH
The most delicate, sheer & soft stretch 100% nylon mesh (with lace trims).
Care instructions: Cold hand wash. Do not bleach. Do not tumble dry. Line dry in shade to protect these delicate fibres from harsh sun. Cold iron under cloth is necessary. Gentle care. Treat this garment delicately.

95% COTTON / 5% SPANDEX
The softest quality cotton with the finest spandex interwoven to give the fabric a comfortable fit with stretch where required.
Care instructions: Washes well and holds its shape - cool gentle machine wash with no bleaching agents. Drying in the tumble dry will be detrimental to the shape and content as this will shrink the fibres and reduces the life of the spandex. Please dry flat to maintain shape. Warm iron on the reverse side if required. Do not dry clean. For intimate styles - cool iron inside out is best after a cool gentle machine wash. Best not to tumble dry.

55%COTTON / 45%RAYON
Cotton / Rayon is a delicious combination that allows your garments to drape and breathe. One of Peter's favourite fabric blends. A soft luxury quality that has extra softness due to the rayon content. However, there is a slightly higher shrinkage in this combination so customers must adhere to these care instructions. Irons beautifully! Again a very popular fabrication that we continue to use in our pyjamas.
Care instructions: We recommend a cold machine wash. Do not bleach. To prolong the life of your garment, we suggest drying in the shade. This also preserves the brightness of colour. Minimal ironing required but use a warm iron if needed.

100% COTTON TOWELLING
The highest quality 'ringspun' cotton toweling has been used for our robes. Highest quality dye has been used to give you the brilliance of colour.
Care instructions: We recommend a warm machine wash. Wash separately for the first few washes as some slight colour shift may occur. Please do not bleach (for white colour a nappy whitener would be recommended if required). Rinse thoroughly and warm tumble dry immediately when cycle has finished / or line dry. Harsh sunlight will fade the bright colours, so it is recommended to dry in shade. May be dry cleaned but we recommend laundering

91% POLYESTER / 9% SPANDEX
Polyester with a touch more spandex for comfort and stretch. Soft and feels luxurious on the body. Crease resistant, quick drying and strong. Synthetic fibre.
Care instructions: Warm hand wash is best for this fabric. Do not bleach. Warm rinse and dry in the shade if possible to reduce fading. Do not tumble dry. Do not iron! Do not dry clean.

CASHMILLION - 100% ACRYLIC
The 100% Acrylic has been scientifically processed for superb softness & drape. Some pilling is a natural occurrence with Acrylic, so for you to retain the best look and longevity of your garment, we recommend dry cleaning. Our cashmillon gowns have been 'garment dyed' so there maybe slight colour variations throughout the garment.
Care instructions: Gentle hand wash in cool water. Do not bleach. Dry flat and reshape whilst damp. Do not tumble dry. Use cool iron if required. Drycleanable.

SCUFF SLIPPERS
These scuffs are fully machine washable - gentle machine wash with domestic soap powder or liquid. Suggest to roll in a dry towel to remove any excess moisture after spin cycle and dry in a warm airy spot.

HOME BOOTS - SUEDE, WOOL LINED
It is recommended that cleaning be done by a 'specialist'. To initially protect your boots, we recommend that you spray with a 'water proofing' solution available in shoe care sections of most supermarkets or shoe repairers.
